The Upper Manhattan Creative Professionals Meetup

Are you a painter? filmmaker, graphic designer, writer, architect, dancer, cellist, actor, or other creative type? Or just interested in the arts? This group is all about getting together, and creating an Upper Manhattan Art/Culture scene. Let's hang out, support local arts & cultural events. Put together shows, chat about our work, collaborate maybe, and just have a good time with sharing our endeavors. Have a screen play you're working on? Let's have a reading then at a cafe or my place. You're having a gallery show or performance? Tell us when and where. Need some feedback or help with a project? Tell us all about it! A student? Come and get some advice. And of course, we can always just kick back and take in some jazz and martinis at St. Nicks Pub on occasion too. This group is starting today. 8.25.07. After we get a decent number of people, we'll have our first meet-up in a few weeks. And of course, you can always contact me for an impromptu hang-out and chat. If you'd like to help organize the group, then send yourself in! The more the merrier. Let's start our own renaissance right here where we live up North! Whether from the area or not, all are welcome.

MEET-UP Revision Everyone--------
The group has met at St. Nick's Jazz "joint" on Wednesdays the past few times. Members have told me that the middle of the week is a difficult time for them to meet/hang-out. And that a club with loud music makes it difficult to converse when you're meeting people for maybe the first time. All this was "shouted out" to me over the music more than a few times...lol.
